Forgotten or not known?

Recently, I watched "Aezham Arivu". It's really nice to see that a monk from India, that too from Tamil Nadu, travelled all across the country to China and is remembered by them ever since. In the beginning of the movie, people from TamilNadu and China are asked questions about 'Bodhi Dharman'.
Only the Chinese seemed to know him but all the Tamilians said, "Antha paeraiyae neenga solli thaan theriyum!".

In the climax, actor Surya blames all Tamilians for forgetting such an awesome monk.
My question to Director Murugadoss is, "It's really great to watch such a movie, nice effort and lovely direction. Congratulations!!! but why blame us?". It's like asking us, "Who is Zhang Ziyi?". (For those of you who don't know who is Zhang Ziyi - she is a chinese actress. Remember our "Paayum puli pathungum naagam"? ;))

Ofcourse we don't remember who is 'Bodhi Dharman' because we don't know him. How will we know him when he learns everything in our country and goes to another country then sacrifices his life for them? Did we forget our great kings, leaders and poets? Ofcourse we learn about them in our books and through our grandparents because they left their foot prints in our country and served our society. Now we teach our kids about them.

So I think it's better to stop blaming us for forgetting the 'monk' who did nothing to us.
