Self Confidence!

I recently had my c-section and delivered a beautiful or should I say handsome baby boy. Unfortunately my family could not come over to help me. My friend suggested me a Gujarati lady to help me around. She gave me her no:. I thought I could manage somehow without help and my husband took care of home for three weeks. After he went back to work I tried hard to do stuff all by myself but it was difficult. So one fine day I decided to call the lady.

She came home and I called my friend to help me with the language. Unfortunately the lady spoke only Gujarati and Hindi, except 'no' and 'OK' in English. To my surprise not even numbers. She know only 1-10 in English. Even the word 'Twenty-Five' was too complicated for her. I have to say '2' and '5' separately for $25.

She comes with her Sister-in-law to work. Since she comes along with her I thought she is helping her around with the language problem ofcourse she does, she is her chat partner. She sits there in the kitchen and while the other lady works. She doesn't even help her. That doesn't mean she is a 'mean' SIL, but a very business calculative people. Because for an hour it's $10 and if she helps her around she can complete the work within half-an-hour. Impressed!!!

U all know from my other post I don't speak Hindi. I can understand though! The funniest thing about me is I can read and write hindi very clearly because I have completed my Prathmic in 5th Std. Yes!

She came for the first time and understood I don't speak hindi  and to my surprise she told me, "I'll teach you hindi so u won't have any problems". It's kind of funny because she is in USA where people don't speak hindi, she doesn't know a word in English now she wants me to learn hindi to communicate with her. She must've understood those with the look I gave her so after 5 mins she told me "I'll teach u hindi and u teach me English". I said, 'Ok!'. She cooked and cleaned the whole place. She is so confident about her food, she said me not to worry about anything and leave the cooking to her. Believe it or not I understand the whole thing she spoke in hindi. I asked her to make Chappathi and Chenna.

As soon as she started, I couldn't resist it. The whole house is filled with the aroma of her cooking. She asked me to taste it. I loved it. The food spoke for her. No wonder she is so confident about her work. Without knowing a word in English, she is working in more than 3 houses in my neighborhood. After tasting her food and seeing her work I would definetly recommend to my friends around here. Now this I would call 'Self-Confidence'.

P.S., Now I'm communicating with her thru 'Google:Translate'. Trust me it works.

Error!

These days simple mistakes are the reason for breakups in many relationships.
Alexander Pope said , "To Error is Human to forgive is Divine".  My point is you don't have to be a divine to forgive everything, but be a human to understand that mistakes are part of your life.

Song!

My daughter loves the song, "All the single ladies" by Beyonce'. She used to listen to it all the time. Whenever we travel in the car she always ask me to play the same song over and over till we reach the destination. She never saw that video. So yesterday while she was dancing to the you tube videos, I thought of playing this video. As soon as she heard. She came runnning to watch the video. I thought she will be happy but to my surprise she looked shocked. She turned to me and said, "Amma, they forgot to put their pants!!!"

Paati's Pancake!

Reading a story at bedtime to my daughter has been a everynight routine in my family. Usually we used to read a story from a book. This time my husband thought of telling our famous, "Paati vadai sutta kathai" story. He is too tired to read a story from a book. The story begins with an unsual twist. In this story our paati is preparing pancakes. Since pancakes are my daughter's favourite. We used to call my daughter 'Kuttyma'. The story begins,

Appa : Once upon a time, there lived a paati, who makes the most delicious pancakes. One day a crow was sitting on a tree watching these pancakes. He was waiting for the right time to take a pancake from the paati.
Kuttyma : (Shocked!!)
Appa : (More interested in her response, continues with more suspense) The crow flew down , took the pancake and went back to his tree.
Kuttyma : So did the paati climbed the tree to get the pancake?
Appa :(Didnot expect this question, replied) No sweetie, how will the paati climb the tree. She is too old. So...
Kuttyma: She can use a ladder to climb the tree
Appa:  Illai kuttyma, the paati didnot get a ladder or the pancake. Now lets go to the story... Apuram....
Kuttyma: Appa wait wait, you don't know the story. Let me tell you what happened. Then the paati brought a ladder. She climbed the tree and got the pancake from the crow. Returned back to her home. The end.
Appa: ?!?

Engeyum Kaadhal!!!

Director    : Prabhu Deva
Actors      : 'Jayam' Ravi, Hansika Motwani
Producers : Kalpathi S. Aghoram, Kalpathi S. Ganesh, Kalpathi S. Suresh
Music       : Harris Jeyaraj.

'Engeyum Kaadhal' , a movie starts with the director Prabhu Deva dancing for the title song. Apappo Prakash raj shows his face and gets insulted by the director saying, "You are not in this movie". I still wonder why?!?

Jeyam Ravi acts as a successful business man who enjoys his vacation once a year in Paris. By this time he enjoys beyond the limit with girls no matter whether they are single or committed. The director says that he can attract them by his charms.Seri!!!!

Now coming to the heroine. This girl looks so cute but she looks ridiculous when comes to acting. As per the movie she falls in love with the hero the very first time she looks at him. Her father is Suman. Being a love detective by profession, files a case on our hero. Heroine who is always curious about her father's investigations finds out that a comedian (who suspects our hero is his fiance's lover) plans to kill our hero. So she decides to save him. That's how they meet.  She develops friendship with him and loves him more after she finds him a good man at heart. Our director proves that to the heroine with the stunt masters. Since she understands that he is not interested in love and relationships, she plans to make him fall for her. Ta-dah, the story begins from there.

There are many stupid logic in this movie and one of them is, hero after such a long friendship with the heroine asks for her name only when he leaves back to India. Then he guesses her name as 'Lolita'. I wonder how he got that name for a tamil girl.

The only funniest and honest thing in this movie is, Jeyam Ravi accepting the fact, "Intha vulagathileyae enoda kural pidikumnu sonna motha ponnu nee thaan!".

Raju Sundaram comes as a comedian in this movie who is a very dearest friend of our hero. He has a worst sense of humor and his jokes are disgusting.

Somebody must have told Prabhu Deva that fat guys are funny. So he puts a fat guy in this movie who is a dearest friend of our heroine. This guy has a crush on her. Whenever he is upset with her he eats. All of a sudden he vanishes from this movie.

I really like the plot. But the execution of the story is a disaster.

Harish Jeyaraj is the only best thing in this movie.

After seeing this movie, I have only one question for Prabhu Deva, "Seriously?!?"

As a whole, "Engeyum Kaadhal!" is "Engeyum Waste!"

Pathinaaru - Tamil Movie

Life is getting busy for me these days. So no time for movies like before. After such a long time I saw the movie 'Pathinaaru'. That lead to the following review.

'Pathinaaru' is written and directed by D. Sabapathy and produced by A. Sivasankar. Hero of this movie, 'Mirchi' Shiva. As soon as I saw his name I was excited that it would be funny like  'Tamil Padam'. But R-ambam warned me in the beginning, "don't even think about it, it's no way closer to that movie". Seri apadi enna thaan irukkunnu started to watch that movie.

Ipo kathai ennana, asusual parents protesting the young lovers. When the couple gets ready to elope, heroine's mommy gives them a novel to read. Anga thaan flashback, how the story of young lovers turned into tragedy. The new couple are least bothered about the story but things get serious when the heroine knows that novel is the real story of her father's. Her father gives some advices about love. The heroine than gets ready to go to Australia for her higher studies even though she didnot finish her UG. The hero gets frustrated and tries to find out what exactly happened to her father's love. Then there is the climax.

A good usual message for the teenagers. Love doesn't go wrong when you pay more attention to your career and life. Surukama sollanumna, "Duty first Beauty next!".

Story starts beautifully and ends beautifully. A wonderful screenplay and a good direction. Heroine 'Madhu Shalini' is looking cute but she thinks before her act. Each time she takes a big pause before the next scene. Shiva is good but it takes a little time to see him as a serious actor. Abhishek is well trained artist and his performance is good. This time the actress who plays a role of Abhishek's wife is better. I still don't know her name, I've seen her in lot of movies with 'no acting'. She is good looking, so she is perfect for the role of Heroine's Mom.

'Vinitha' who plays the role of young Ilavarasi has done a remarkable performance. Even though 'Kishore kumar' the young Gopi didnot have much things to do in the film he had done his best. Pandi as  'Sakkarai', proves himself as a good character artist.  Kasthuri in cameo appearance. Good to see her after a long time. The two kids who plays the role of Little Gopi and Little Ilavarasi has done a very good job. Especially I like when little Gopi  runs away from school crying, he is co cute. The choice on choosing the actors are very good.

The explanation for the title is also neat.

Yuvan Shankar Raja has done a good job in music.

Mothathil intha padam ellarum kudumbathoda votkarnthu paarkalam.

Padam paathavangalukku voru question :  They may give thousands of explanation for this, but Ilavarasi accepted to marry Sakkarai in the end. Apadi irukkum pothu Gopikku guilty feeling vara koodathu thaanae ? Suspense vodaikaama pathil sollunga.
